The Affairs of Baxiganj is written by Author Subhobroto Mazumder. It is a psychological thriller which plays with the human mind and draws it towards different conclusions. The story is setup around 1990s in the small town of Baxiganj.

The tale is about three geology friends who were transferred to a remote town in Ghatsila. They were all employed by Pioneer Minerals and Oil where their cranky boss always kept them on their toes. The situation got worse one night when their boss wife was shot and the three friends came under the radar of the investigating officer. As the investigation progresses further the readers are in for the surprise of their life.

It is a compelling story with an engaging plot. The narrative is rich with vivid descriptions. The story delves into the complexities of human mind. All the characters are well developed. The blend of mystery with suspense and surprise was commendable. The story starts in a slow pace at first but gradually picks up the pace as it proceeds further. The story is fit to be made into a movie.

The author has written the story in a humour style which made the reading experience more enjoyable. If you are looking forward to read something different, definitely go for this book.
