Title : The Tonic
Author : Mayur Sudhakar Sarfare
Language : English
Edition : Paperback
Pages : 358

πŸ’« The Tonic by Mayur Sudhakar Sarfare is the debut novel of the author. The plot of the story is set up in early 90's and has a fantastic storyline. It starts during the Mumbai riots in 1992 and keeps stretching from 1992 till 2017. It is an emotional tale of the friendship between the two psychological outcasts Raem and Masher. How the violent riots affected them and the city, we can see through them. Decades later a media tycoon who is an atheist comes up with a plan to clean the country from religion.

πŸ’« The story has all the ingredients for a excellent read. It is a thrilling and captivating story which takes us on a rollercoaster ride. All the characters play a powerful role in it. This book contains thriller, romance, excitement, drug use, religion and terrorism. The language of the book was very good as some of the words were new to me. It is long read but never exhausts us. The story leaves us full of mixed emotions.

πŸ’« The cover of the book has been made artistically in tune with the story. The characters caught in the blaze of riot with the city in the background looks very drepessing . It is a heart wrenching site to behold.
