Author Interview π₯ Jitesh π₯
My interview with Jitesh, author of the book ' The Last Noble Prince '. He is an English Teacher of a reputed school in Mumbai but found his true love in fiction. He spins an enthralling tale of fantasy and science fiction in his book. Our conversation has been summarized below :
1. Can you briefly introduce yourself
π« I am Jitesh Manglani, a teacher of English in a reputed school and author. I harbour a love for reading and writing, particularly poems, short stories and novels and feel Literature is indeed the art, which is the essence of existence and enlightenment.
2. What inspired you to write this book ?
π« There were a myriad of inspirations, particularly in the genre of fantasy, which include Lord of the Rings, Artemis Fowl, A Song of Ice and Fire, and, of course, Harry Potter, but I was also inspired by a great of philosophical writing by Arthur Schopenhauer, Fredrick Nietzsche, Plato, and Karl Marx and elements of the same is visible in the book. But the greatest inspiration has been my parents and their love and relationship with me.
3. What was the most surprising thing you discovered while you were creating and writing your novel ?
π« While writing this book, the most surprising thing I understood was that writing a novel was not as simple as simply tossing in words together, but like a well cooked meal simmered and cooked to perfection, must follow a process of highs and lows to create a tantalising experience.
4. Why did you choose this genre ? Are you going to try other genres too ?
π« Well, Fantasy had always been a genre that has touched upon my vivid sense of imagination. The ability to create a world of your own, with mythical creatures like dragons and magic has indeed been the best fuel to my imagination and sense of adventure, which I did try to a great degree to make a part of this novel. Yes, I have deep interest in science-fiction novels by Isaac Asimov, and Frank Herbert and will indeed foray into that genre as well as philosophical novels on the lines of Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky, the kind indeed desire to write in the future.
5. What is the main aim of this book ?
π« The main of this book is simply to provide an experience of adventure, to express the battle of good and evil, and yet show that neither good nor evil are one dimensional archetypes, but simply a kind of yin and yang, with both housing qualities of each other and that there is no absolute black or white, but various shades of grey in the world.
6. In your opinion what are the most important elements of good writing
π« The most important element of writing is imagination, inspiration, dedication, and creation.
7. Who is your favourite author ? Which is your favourite book and why ?
π« My favourite author is Frank Herbert. My favourite book is God Emperor of Dune because this book, much like my own Last Noble Prince depicts the sacrifices and dedication that a great ruler must undertake at personal cost for the good of all whom he has promised to serve.
8. Tell us something about your journey with BecomeShakespeare.com. How have you enjoyed your publishing experience so far?
π« My journey with Becomeshakespeare. com has been beyond words can describe because it has been very helpful and supportive and the only organisation that so willingly takes up projects of new and upcoming authors. I have the deepest respect for the organisation.
9. What is the most difficult part in the process of publishing ?
π« The most difficult part, I would say, is the part of actually getting published. Publishing organisations are entirely unwilling to consider works that are the conventional romance/drama/mythology and simply least interested in new authors and either accept established authors or recommendations from established agents. This is where I commend Becomeshakespeare.com for taking up projects of upcoming authors.
10. What are your future plans in the book industry ?
π« My future plans are to continue writing and produce more and better work of fiction that not only stimulates the reads mind and imagination, but also their way of thinking.
11.Your message for our readers
π« Just read, read and read. The more we read, the more human we become!
